A Success!, Still Time to Make a Difference!

Since 2004 the camp board and the campaign committee have been supportive of "His Promise, His Hope, His Future", Phase 1 of the Master Site Plan. So far we have been blessed with over $850,000. Most of these donations are cash gifts that are earning interest until they are used. Some of the gifts are pledges over a 3 year period. 195 individuals, families, or organizations have contributed so far to "His Promise, His Hope, His Future". By the end of this year, we will end our Capital Campaign, and we will thank God for the blessings He has given us.

Did you know that during summer camp sessions we had 54 campers who indicated they had NO HOME CHURCH on their registration form, and 108 campers indicated they were OTHER CHRISTIAN. That represents 25% of the entire summer camp. Many of these campers were brought by friends who are members of our Lutheran Churches.

Did you know that over half of our retreat groups are not from Lutheran churches or organizations, and while they are here we take advantage of the opportunities we have to share the love of Christ with them through our conversation, hospitality, and facilities.

CAMP LUTHERHOMA IS A MISSION FIELD.

It is our prayer that the summer campers that are brought by their friends, or a retreat participant, will perhaps begin a closer relationship with Jesus, and maybe feel more comfortable about going with their friend to church, perhaps a Lutheran church.

So, one way to look at your participation in Phase 1 of the Master Site Plan for Camp Lutherhoma is that you are contributing to Kingdom work in bringing people closer to Jesus, and giving opportunities for nurturing discipleship through a church back home. John Busch, director of Camp Lutherhoma states, "There is no greater reason to invest in His Promise, His Hope, His Future than the fact that all year round we have opportunities to witness to many people who are not involved in a church."

The Retreat Cabins will need furnishing. Each bedroom will have bunk beds, fold out couch beds, sinks, chairs and perhaps a desk. We estimate that it will cost about $3,000 to furnish each of the 8 bedrooms. Please prayerfully consider personally sponsoring one of the bedrooms with your end of the year contribution. A full sponsorship of a bedroom will be recongnized with a plaque, if you so wish.
