Games: are played with
participants and facilitator as one of the first activities at the start of
a challenge course retreat. These games are intended to be fun,
relaxing, full of energy, and non-competative. While these games may
seem to be pointless, they actually accomplish quite a bit in the scope of
reaching goals for the group. Initiatives: are challenging activities that occur on a field, in a building, or in the woods on the Low Elements. We call all of these group challenge experiences "initiatives' because through them the group is encouraged to take initiative to figure out a new solution to a very strange challenge. |
![]() Trust Activities: are used to bring the group together to realize that a strong group must trust each other. Some of these activities involve leading others, catching each other in controlled falls, and learning how tospot. ![]() The High Elements: are those activities at the end of the challenge course sequence when the group is ready to support each other as individuals. The activities are built in trees and telephone poles, and the participants will ascend up to 28 feet in the air. These activities are completely safe, as the facilitators are always present to control the belay system of each participant. The variety of High Elements at Camp Lutherhoma is unique and varied so that all will find enough of a challenge to tell others about. Some are even 2 or 4 person activities! |
